Michael Harre has been appointed Co-Managing Director of novotegra GmbH, a subsidiary of BayWa r.e. AG which specialises in the manufacture of photovoltaic mounting systems, effective 1 April. He will focus on management of the company’s commercial operations, while Managing Director, Thomas Pfaff, will be responsible for the technical side of the business.
Michael Harre brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the solar industry. He spent 10 years in his last position with LG Electronics and, as Vice President of EU Solar Group, developed the international module and storage business. Prior to that, he was the Chief Sales Officer at Schott Solar, where he established the Solar division, including solar thermal power, from its inception.
“In my last two positions, BayWa r.e. was one of my customers, which gave me some insight into the company. I was impressed not only by the innovative products and their high quality, but also by the corporate culture and employees. When the chance came to move to the new subsidiary of BayWa r.e., I didn’t need to think it over for very long. I’m looking forward now to working with my team to establish the novotegra brand internationally,” Michael Harre said.
“We are proud to have gained such an experienced expert for the management of our new subsidiary. With his expertise in building business entities as well as his long-standing knowledge of BayWa r.e., Michael Harre is the perfect choice for this position,” said Frank Jessel, Global Director Solar Trade at BayWa r.e.
novotegra GmbH was recently hived off and consolidates BayWa r.e.'s manufacturing activities for photovoltaic mounting systems, which the company has been developing for over 20 years. The philosophy of the business entity is to offer components that are extremely sustainable and practical, with the highest degree of prefabrication. This allows installers to work efficiently and to compete successfully.
The BayWa r.e. distribution companies will continue to sell the systems throughout Europe.
